Publishing Technology Board
The Janeway Publishing Technologies Board (JPTB) is a strategic advisory body of the Open Library of Humanities (OLH). It provides long-term vision and expert guidance for the development of Janeway, the open-source publishing platform.
Purpose and Role
The Board advises on strategic direction, technical priorities, and platform sustainability. It acts as a forum for discussion and helps ensure that Janeway remains responsive to its global community of users and contributors.
Membership
The Board is made up of publishing professionals, librarians, and open-source advocates. Members serve staggered terms and are elected to ensure diverse representation across the community. A Chair is elected as needed to facilitate meetings and build consensus.
The Board meets twice annually to review development progress, provide strategic input, and make advisory recommendations. It supports the Janeway development team through consultation, guidance, and community engagement.
Reporting
The Director of Publishing Technology provides regular updates to the Board, and the Board may produce recommendations or strategy notes to inform platform planning.
Review
This governance structure is reviewed annually to ensure it continues to meet the needs of the Janeway and OLH communities.
